As a result, we have developed the new non-PFAS Zintek® 200 and Zintek® ONE HP silver zinc flake basecoat.
Our non-PFAS topcoats, available in black, silver, and clear options, enhance the aesthetics of coated parts while meeting major OEM specifications. These coatings perform comparably in critical tests, such as heat loosening and multi-tightening, against materials like e-coat, aluminum, and steel.

Our non-PFAS containing Zintek 200 combined with Zintek Top LV offers an optimal zinc flake coating system meeting stringent automotive industry standards. This advanced system achieves precise coefficient of friction (CoF) values, is crucial for modern assembly technologies, and accommodates higher tightening speeds with various washer materials like steel, e-coat, and aluminum.
The CoF range is meticulously controlled within µtot 0.08 to 0.14, ensuring consistent performance across diverse mounting scenarios. Zintek 200 and Zintek Top LV deliver exceptional corrosion protection and meet exacting CoF requirements.
This zinc flake coating system demonstrates robust durability, with two layers of basecoat providing over 1,000 hours of resistance in Neutral Salt Spray Testing (ISO 9227). The basecoat’s superior adhesion and impact resistance ensure it remains uniform under significant stress. Free from harmful heavy metals, Zintek 200 process is complemented by our topcoats for enhanced performance.
The clear topcoat Zintek Top LV, with its ultra-thin layer of approx. 1.5 µm, offers robust corrosion protection and meets complex CoF requirements, ensuring minimal scatter during multiple mounting scenarios. Its integrated UV-tracer allows for easy verification under ultraviolet light, and it has been rigorously tested and approved for automotive standards.

The combination of MKS’ Atotech non-PFAS containing Zintek ONE HP NP basecoat with Techseal Brilliant Silver topcoat represents a pinnacle in zinc flake coating technology. The non-PFAS Zintek ONE HP NP process offers a groundbreaking single-layer application for inorganic zinc flakes basecoats, providing up to 720 hours of corrosion resistance in neutral salt spray testing. This innovation eliminates the need for a traditional two-coat system, reducing energy consumption and optimizing production efficiency. Engineered for automotive, construction, and heavy industries, Zintek ONE HP NP excels in mechanical durability and maintains consistent coating thickness.
