Berlin, 27 May, 2024 – Atotech, a leading surface finishing brand within the Materials Solutions Division of MKS Instruments, is proud to announce its participation at SurfaceTechnology GERMANY 2024, which will take place from June 4 to 6, 2024, in Stuttgart, Germany.
Surface Technology GERMANY, an international exhibition and conference for the surface technology industry, offers a platform for manufacturers to showcase the latest technologies and solutions while fostering global networking opportunities. Its accompanying Expert Forum, a highly regarded source of industry intelligence, provides insight into trends and developments in surface technology and facilitates discussions with experts and scientists.
As a leading developer of innovative coating systems and technologies for surface enhancement, such as electroless and electroplating, our focus is on sustainability, as we are committed to providing products and services that help our customers adapt to ever-stricter environmental regulations. Our sustainable solutions help minimize the environmental impact of coating processes by using less energy, being more efficient, and producing less waste. Highlights of our product range include Cr(VI)-free, non-PFAS decorative and functional coating solutions. Other innovations include the latest generation of advanced two-component cleaning solutions that operate at extremely low temperatures, reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions at our customers’ facilities. In response to the growing concern about PFAS, we offer non-PFAS base and topcoat products that we will present at the show. Our Compact Membrane Anodes (CMA), developed to increase efficiency and productivity in alkaline zinc-nickel electroplating processes, along with our CMA Closed-Loop System, represent a significant advancement in wastewater management by virtually eliminating waste generation and promoting sustainability through its closed-loop design.
Our product highlights at the Surface Technology GERMANY 2024 are:
Cleaning and pretreatment solutions
UniClean® A101 / B201 – Ultra-low temperature emulsifying, immersion soak cleaner system with ultrasonic compatibility that advances oil degradation, extends bath life and excels in conductivity control, suitable for steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, and zinc.
High performance corrosion protection solutions
Zinni® 220 – Acid zinc nickel process that combines high plating efficiency with superior thickness and alloy distribution across a wide current density range.
Zinni® AL 450 – Alkaline zinc nickel plating process with stable nickel incorporation of 12 – 15%.
CMA Closed Loop System – Efficient and wastewater-free sustainable solutions, approved by TÜV Rheinland with 3 certificates.
REACH-compliant solutions for decorative coating
Covertron® 600 – Cr-free pretreatment for plastic metallization suitable for the ABS, ABS/PC, and 2K/3K/ selective materials that are currently produced with Cr(VI)-based processes.
TriChrome® Ice – Cr(VI)-free decorative chromium process with a sparkling bluish hue that accentuates clean and modern designs, a trivalent decorative chromium solution that is most similar to the pure, mirror-like color of a hexavalent chrome finish.
Sustainable wear resistant coatings
Fumalock® – Fluorine-free, non-PFOS, non-PFAS fume suppressant. Outperforms existing processes in NESHAP stack tests (2 to 4 times lower in Cr6+ emissions). EPA, CEPA and REACH compliant.
BluCr® – The safer and more sustainable alternative to hexavalent hard-chrome plating with low friction and good wear-resistance properties.
Nichem® HP 1170 – Innovative high-phosphorus electroless nickel process offering unmatched highest corrosion protection. Its ideally suited for applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance such as the Oil and Gas industry.
Coating technologies for the electrical engineering and electronics industry
StannoPure® PF 10 and StannoPure® 3000-E – Environmentally friendly high-speed tin plating for lead frames and connectors, suitable for all common plating technologies. The deposited pure tin layers are characterized by a lower tendency to form tin whiskers and improved solderability.
Ultinal® CNF 128 – Environmentally friendly process as it is free of cyanides, for the deposition of adhesive copper layers on all common metal substrates.
Silvertech® LED electrolytes – Low-cyanide electrolytes for the deposition of shiny silver layers that can be used in all common coating technologies. The deposited silver layers are characterized by a permanent hardness of around 110 HV as well as good bondability and solderability.
